Dr Lindsay Marshall

Biography

Dr Lindsay Marshall (pictured above with Pong the dog) is a FRAME Trustee and joined the Board in April 2023.

Lindsay completed a PhD in cell physiology from Dundee Medical School before completing two postdoctoral research fellowships at Southampton Medical School and Portsmouth University, where she studied the innate immune response in the fatal genetic disease, cystic fibrosis.

Lindsay then moved to Aston University, where she lectured in immunology and her research was focused on developing three-dimensional cell culture models of human airways. She joined the Humane Society of the United States in 2016 as a Science Advisor for Animal Research Issues promoting the development, application and use of the non-animal new approach methodologies across biomedical research and testing.

I am thrilled to join FRAME as a trustee. I believe that focusing on better science, through supporting and developing non-animal methods, will be a win for humans and animals and together we can make this happen.”
