We’re excited to be able to offer the 15th training school in-person again between 26-28 April 2022, in Nottingham, UK.
This collaborative Training School in Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis of Biomedical and Bioscience Experiments is aimed at postgraduate level or above.
The Training School will:
- provide researchers with an understanding of basic design concepts;
- give researchers the ability to use more efficient designs for their experiments;
- stimulate engagement with the 3Rs; and
- enable access to expert tutors.
The Training Schools are highly interactive and include lectures, group discussions and individual exercises. The programme is structured to lead participants from simple experimental design and statistical ideas, through more complex methods and analysis to effective presentation of findings. Participants are also able to discuss their own research problems/experiences with the expert tutors.
The course is accredited by FELASA and you will have the opportunity to take an examination at the end of the course to gain that accreditation. It also qualifies for 10 LASA UK CPD points.
Registration represents excellent value for money as it includes access to expert tutors, course materials, accommodation, lunches, breaks and evening meals, and transportation between the hotel and venue during the course.
Places are limited and sell quickly so we suggest you book early. If places are already fully booked, you can sign up to the waiting list in case of cancellation.
In the unfortunate event that Covid-19 restrictions are imposed by the UK Government, resulting in the In-Person event having to be cancelled, provision will be made to deliver the course online instead.
Comments from previous participants:
“Very worthwhile and feel much better equipped with designing experiments and properly analysing and interpreting data (or at least where to look!)”
“I loved the group exercises and how they were basically not straightforward. They really do reflect the kinds of pitfalls scientists need to think about before rushing head-first into an experiment.”
“Even though I had had training in some aspects previously, the integration of analysis methods and design was very useful.”.
