Introducing FRAME’s newest Trustee

FRAME, is incredibly thrilled to announce we have appointed communications professional Sara Carbone as a trustee to support our ongoing growth and development.

A specialist in marketing and digital communications, Sara has more than 17 years’ experience in the publishing and charity sectors, leading teams working across all communications disciplines.

In her current role as Head of Communications and Digital at the RCVS Knowledge the charity partner of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), she helps to shape the cross-organisational strategy and culture and leads the governance of the charity, as well as its overall communications and digital activity. Prior to RCVS Knowledge, Sara held senior communications roles at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, as well at the national mental health charities, Rethink Mental Illness and Mind.

FRAME’s Board of Trustees provides strategic direction and governance and works alongside the charity’s team that is led by CEO Celean Camp. Sara joins FRAME Trustees Dr Lesley Gilmour, Dr Anja Petrie, and Chair of Trustees, Dr Carol Treasure.

“For many years, my work has focused on the communication of a wide variety of health and scientific issues to many diverse audiences, and the importance and value of robust research and experimentation has always been a key element of this, regardless of the specific field,” Sara explains. “A future where we use non-animal models is one where research results will be more accurate and precise, and drugs and methodologies will be more effective and safer for us all. Just as importantly, it is also a future where cruelty to animals will be obsolete, and there will be a greater respect and appreciation for the natural world – something we must do all we can to protect and preserve.

“FRAME is at a very exciting point in its development, and there are so many great opportunities to further increase its visibility and communicate its impact. I am excited to help support this work from a strategic communications perspective, as well as work with a diverse group of fellow trustees whom I will learn so much from.”

Our CEO Celean Camp adds: “Sara’s extensive expertise across marketing, communications and digital will be invaluable as we refresh our strategies in these areas and embark on the next phase of the charity’s growth and development. Her genuine passion and enthusiasm for FRAME’s cause and understanding of the benefits non-animal research can bring to human health, combined with her strong capabilities across branding, creative content development and audience engagement, mean she will be an immediate asset to the FRAME Board of Trustees as we seek to grow public awareness of FRAME and the FRAME Laboratory’s cutting-edge, non-animal research.”

All of us at FRAME would like to say WELCOME TO THE TEAM! We’re so excited to work with Sara to better communicate our vision and the impact our work has.
